Item DetailsArtist: Wes Wilson Title: Scarce BG-14 Grateful Dead Poster Printing Date: 1966 Medium: Lithograph Size/Format: 14" x 20" Publisher: Bill Graham Series: Bill Graham Presents
Wes Wilson designed this poster for a three-day series of concerts that took place just prior to July 4, 1966. Entitled “Independence Ball,” these shows included the best acts of the day from the Bay Area, as well as some outstanding back-up groups. The design is fairly simple for a Wilson creation of this period, and the lettering for the word “Ball” is quite similar to that used for a later poster—the BG-21. Because this poster was printed only once and features such a great lineup, it is always in demand.
Please note that this lot has a confidential reserve. When you leave a bid in advance of the auction, submit your maximum. The bidder who has submitted the highest bid wins the lot, provided the bid exceeds the reserve price.
